The Camera Obscura
The video you see is an example of a group of people from New York explaining how to create a camera obscura. They have darken the room with no light coming in what so ever by taping black bags to the windows. They then cut a small whole so there is a bit of light coming through and then u get an upside down image that appears on the wall. The reason for this is because the light travels within in straight line.

This image will help explain how the process works. The light from the top of the object outside will travel down the whole to the bottom of the wall opposite. The light from the bottom of the object appears to be projected at the top the wall. Many artists have discovered this new way of photography many hundreds of years ago and have used it to create realistic images of the outside world on a two dimensional surface.
How to make a camera Obscura!
- First you get your tube, it can be any tube, for example, pingle tube, toilet tube. Then you cut about 4 cm's of it. But it depends on the size of your tube.
- After you've cut that little bit off you out it to the side and get the big peace also get some greaseproof paper, then what you do is cover one end of the tube, it doesn't matter what end, and tap it down nice a secure.
- Once you've tapped that down tight you then get the small peace that you cut and tap that down on top of the greaseproof paper, after that you get a bit of tin foil and cover the whole leaving a whole at the bottom to look through.
- Once all of the the parts are taped together, you get a pin and in the very centre of the tin foil you make a little whole. and there you have a obscura camera.
When cutting the bit off that you want, you do it with a Stanley knife but get a teacher to help you.

Abelardo MorellThese images you see where created by Abelardo Morell. the images are made by a camera obscura using a SLR with on a tripod with a very long exposure. It is ver important that you use a tripod when the camera shutter is open for a long period of time because this would ensure that images will stay still and come out perfect and not smudged.

This is my example using a camera Obscura. I think its interesting because you can see the image clearly. what I can see is a buliding and grass and the sky with clouds, the colours are quite bright but it's obviously upside down.
